National Small Business Week (NSBW) is an annual celebration of entrepreneurs and small businesses that play a central role in helping local economies grow and thrive. Many organizations, including the U.S Chamber of Commerce extend the celebration throughout the entire month to allow business owners to attend educational events, network and strengthen their businesses. African Americans were denied loans by mainstream banks as they sought home mortgages and the resources to start their lives anew. To answer this discriminatory practice, The Concord Baptist Church of Christ founded Concord Federal Credit Union in 1951. It was chartered with eight members from the Church.
